The First Private Screening of Journey Towards Justice

Last night was the first private screening of Journey Towards Justice. I am still sitting with it.

The room was full of the people who actually made this film. The cast and crew, and the faculty and students from the University of South Florida who lived this whole thing alongside me. These are the folks who sat down in front of my camera and told the truth. They trusted me with their words, and last night they finally got to see what we built together.

Watching their faces while they watched themselves on screen, I do not really have the words for it. Some of them laughed. Some got quiet. I just kept thinking about how much they gave me to make this.

This film is theirs before it is anybody else’s. Every story in it came from someone in that room. So last night was for them.

This is just the start. I cannot wait to see where this film goes.
